I have the memory of my parents telling me even today that I could barely speak, and I already had visually identified brand logos and would say them non-stop when seeing them. My older brother is surely to blame for this, as he was probably the one who knew how to read them and would tell me the names.
My experience, we can say, began as something very visual since, as a child, you can't read, but when you see something that interests you, you identify it. I remember being a child who couldn't reach the pedals and dreaming of reaching adulthood to be able to drive the cars I had dreamed of so much in my childhood.
During adolescence, you start doing crazy things that you later regret, like taking your father's car without permission. My father had an interest in cars, but it didn't even come close to mine.
That being said, like many young people, when we learn to drive and have the need or curiosity to try things, even without permission, we do it, and luckily, nothing happened, so I can explain it.
For me, taking my father's car without permission was an obvious risk, but I did it on several occasions, and I only regret not having the courage to ask him to let me use it, I suppose out of embarrassment or because I knew the answer would be a resounding NO.
Taking that car, for me, wasn't about showing off or showing it to my friends, as the last thing I wanted was for them to see me in it, risking my father finding out. My need was rather to have a machine-human connection and enjoy the act of driving that car. For this, I had my predefined routes, usually at night, full of twists and turns, and I would never, ever have allowed anything to happen to that car because the connection I had with it was special.
By this point, you might be wondering, "Which car is he talking about?" Well, the car in question was a 911. And this car, for me, was the first sports car, my first experience with sports cars. The 911 is an iconic car, a car that, with over 50 years of production, has improved in every aspect - its design, power, and handling.
How fast that car was, and how it behaved, it was truly amazing!
Where I live, we have a couple of roads that have been the scene of many accidents because inexperienced hands have tested their limits, and luckily, I didn't have to experience it, although on some occasions, I came very close. These cars, even though they have a very high limit, when you reach it, it can be impressive, and the difficult part is to know how to stay at that point because one mistake can be FATAL.
Years later, that 911 became another 911, and over the years, I had other opportunities to test other sports cars like the Ferrari 360 Modena, F430 Monza, F458 Italia, a Lamborghini V10, Porsche 968, 911 (first series), 911 Turbo, GT3, several Aston Martin cars, including the spectacular Vanquish S, a true "Bond Car." Also, the impressive Nissan GTR, the Audi R8 (also known as the Lambo of Audi), the Lotus Elise, several Mercedes AMG models, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII, the legendary Honda S2000, and my beloved BMW M3, which I have tested in all its body styles except the latest one, until now.
I still remember the first time I had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a BMW M3 E46, not as a passenger but as a driver, and I can say that the M3 E46 is the first BMW I had contact with. Its design, its sound, its feel, I loved it.
And you might be wondering if I've had any experience on the track, and the answer is yes, not too much, but some. I haven't been a regular at track day events, but I can say that I have been on the circuit a few times. I've raced at Mora d'Ebre, Alcarrás, Castellolí, Montmeló, and Nordschleife.

Without a doubt, Nordschleife is the best experience I have had on a circuit. The best and the one that has given me the most respect, as that circuit is an absolute madness. It's a closed, narrow highway where everyone is pushing their cars to the limit. I had the opportunity to both race in a rental car and ride as a passenger in the legendary BMW M5 V10 of the Ring Taxi, with none other than Sabine Schmitz, the Queen of the Green Hell, as the long Nürburgring circuit has always been called.

The car I drove was a modified GOLF GTI MK5, prepared for the circuit, stripped and equipped with roll bars. It was significantly lighter, stiffer, and the exhaust sound was much more noticeable. I enjoyed it a lot; in fact, I still remember how the excitement, the speed on the track, and the fact that we were lucky enough to coincide with Le Mans cars "training casually" on the circuit made for a spectacular experience.
